After our busiest year ever, we are sat here in January trying to push away the biscuits and think of healthy juices and snacks whilst we consider what we feel will be big in the party market for 2017.
1) Lighting
It is always fun to inject some lighting into your party space and 2016 saw a big increase in the light-up letters like those from Vowed and Amazed. However this company have taken the concept further and have launched some amazing lighting props like the disco donut, which will soon be followed by the Hot Dog and Hamburger lights. Great for kids and grown-ups alike, see more http://www.vowedandamazed.co.uk/
2) Donut Wall
This leads us on to the donut wall, one of our favourites, primarily because we just love donuts. These can be any size but we feel bigger is better as of course, you get more donuts that way. Our Little Party Hire Company are in the process of making a wall to hire out but who better to supply the donuts than Vicky’s Donuts, her instagram feed is enough to make all your new year’s resolutions vanish instantly http://www.vickysdonuts.com/
3) Beauty and The Beast
As we start the New Year with a Frozen party, we are wondering if the spell can be broken with the launch of the new Disney Princess film “Beauty and The Beast”. We are at the ready with lots of design ideas for party decoration and sweet tables. Look at this party below from https://www.facebook.com/heartsugarsugar http://blog.hwtm.com/2012/07/beauty-and-the-beast-theme/ for inspiration.
4) Partyware
The ready to buy partyware market has come on in leaps and bounds, led by Meri Meri in particular, looking through their new catalogue for 2017, there are so many beautiful ideas you just want to party all year long. We particularly like their jungle leaf and pineapple shaped plates http://www.shopmerimeri.com/
5) The Taste
This is one thing that continues to be important for our clients, not only do they want great looking cakes, they want to ensure they taste amazing. One client recently introduced us to Fondant Fox, based in Hackney and wow we were definitely coming back for seconds, the cakes not only look great, they taste wonderful http://www.fondantfox.com/
6) Chocolate Covered Oreo’s
It may seem like we are obsessed with sweet things and that is because we are! However, these are not only delicious the detail is amazing. We started working with Coco Peony on a couple of our treat tables and have been amazed by the attention to detail http://www.cocopeony.com/
7) Interactive Balloons
Bubblegum Girls we love their work, and this year they made balloons interactive. Their Rudolf advent calendar, where you burst the balloon and get a chocolate and a New Year’s Eve Midnight confetti balloon countdown has taken balloons to a new level. We are sure they will be coming up with some more interactive ideas soon https://www.bubblegumballoons.co.uk/
8) Inflatables
Have you noticed how much fun these are, how many new designs/shapes are now on the market from the inflatable helter skelter, a disco dome to this moving inflatable pirate ship, almost any theme now you can bring into your party and kids and grown-ups just love them, an inflatable slide is always a big hit.
9) Sweet Displays
Gosh we are back to the sweet stuff again but this year we have really moved on from the table, dessert displays are now more themed focal points than a plain table with a few treats on. If we don’t have the right prop we source, build you a wall, make a skirt, you name it, let’s have a sweet experience not just a table.
10) Sugarfina
Not for children this one but Sugarfina is now available at Harvey Nichols, the sweet with a waiting list and their Rosé gummy bears are a must – http://www.harveynichols.com/brand/sugarfina-/2335166-rose-gummy-bear-and-rosette-sweets/p2769411/
We hope our ideas are of interest and we would love to hear your ideas too.
