Happy Burns Night Everyone!

Whether you have chosen to hold a
dinner party to eat your Burns supper, have a quick dance of the ‘Gay
Gordons’ in your living room or just a wee dram of whiskey to
celebrate the life and works of the great poet and author, Rabbie
Burns. It is a great opportunity to introduce something new to your
children. Why not give them their first taste of haggis? Or recite (
in your best Scottish accent ) a Burns poem such as ‘Tam O’ Shanter’
or ‘Tae a Moose’ even learn some Scottish country dancing steps such as ‘Strip the
Willow’ or ‘Gay Gordons’, all of which can be done
in the comfort of your own home!
However, if you are willing to go a
step further, there are plenty of London restaurants and family friendly pubs to get you in the ceilidh mood! Have a quick look at the links at the bottom of the page for more details.
Being a
very proud Scot I spent a few hours last year trying to find my favorite haggis (Macsween) in London, successfully sourcing it at the one and
only Harrods- if you haven’t tried haggis before, I urge you to try it and get the little ones involved!
I hope you all have a lovely evening, no matter how you choose to spend it,
